Car rental at Sydney Airport

T1 International

Head to the T1 International terminal Arrivals hall where the rental car desks are located.

Once you've collected your keys, you will be directed to the ground level of the multi-storey car park at P7. This is just opposite the T1 International terminal.

T2 and T3 Domestic

Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar and Europcar car rental customers

All Domestic car rental pick-ups and drop-offs for Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar and Europcar will take place on Ross Smith Avenue in the South-East Sector.

Vehicle Drop Off

  • All Domestic car rental drop-offs for Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar and Europcar will take place on Ross Smith Avenue in the South-East Sector. Click here to view the location on a map
  • If you are returning a car rental from Sydney south or via the M5 motorway, please turn left into Butler Road from General Holmes Drive (BP Service Station) and then turn left at the round-about into Ross Smith Avenue. You will then see signs to Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar and Europcar
  • If you are returning a car rental from Sydney CBD, northern or eastern suburbs, please turn right into General Holmes Drive from Southern Cross Drive. Turn left into Ross Smith Avenue and follow Ross Smith Avenue. Proceed straight at roundabout and you will see signs to the drop off locations to Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar and Europcar
  • Car rental customers will be able to access a free car rental shuttle service from the car rental drop off areas back to the T2 and T3 Terminals
  • Please allow approximately 30 minutes for the expected travel time for a one-way shuttle trip from the car rental drop-off point back to the T2 and T3 Terminals

Vehicle Pick Up

  • On arrival at the terminal please visit the in-terminal rental car desk to complete your car rental contract. Please note – if you do not attend the in-terminal car rental desk to complete your car rental contract prior to boarding the free shuttle service, you will not be able to pick up your rental car and may need to return back to T2 and T3
  • A free car rental shuttle service will transport customers from dedicated kerbside stops outside the T2 and T3 Terminals to the car rental pick up points on Ross Smith Avenue in the South-East Sector
  • Only customers with a car rental booking and have attended the in-terminal rental car desk to complete the car rental contract will be able to access the free shuttle service from T2 and T3 Terminals to the pick-up point
  • Customers without a booking must arrange a car rental at the in-terminal rental car desks at T2 and T3 prior to accessing the free shuttle service
  • Please allow approximately 30 minutes for the expected travel time for a one-way shuttle trip from T2 and T3 to the car rental pick-up point

Please follow the car rental signage at the T2 and T3 terminals and the pick-up points to the free shuttle pick-up areas.

Sixt car rental customers

All Domestic car rental pick-ups and drop-offs for Sixt customers will take place at the International Precinct.

Vehicle Drop Off

  • If you are returning a car rental please head towards the International Terminal and follow the signs to Car Rental Returns
  • Car rental customers will be able to access the free T-Bus transfer service outside the International Terminal in the Arrivals level.
  • Please allow approximately 30 minutes for the expected travel time for a one-way shuttle trip from the car rental drop-off point back to the T2 and T3 Terminals

Vehicle Pick Up

  • Please ensure you have booked a car rental at the car rental desks at T2 or T3 Terminals or have already booked online beforehand
  • On arrival at the terminal please visit the in-terminal rental car desk to complete your car rental contract. Please note – if you do not attend the in-terminal car rental desk to complete your car rental contract prior to boarding the T-Bus, you will not be able to pick up your rental car and may need to return back to T2 and T3
  • The free T-Bus transfer service will transport customers from dedicated kerbside stops outside the T2 and T3 Terminals to the International terminal for customers to head into the Car Rental pick up area
  • Please allow approximately 30 minutes for the expected travel time for a one-way shuttle trip from the T2 and T3 Terminals to the International Terminals

Redspot, Enterprise, Alamo and National customers

Vehicle Drop Off

  • All car rental drop-offs will take place at 7 Coleman Street, Mascot. Click here to view the drop off location on a map
  • Car rental customers will be able to access a free car rental shuttle service directly from Mascot back to the T2 and T3 Terminals

Vehicle Pick Up

  • Please ensure you have booked a car rental at the car rental desks at T2 or T3 Terminals or have already booked online or beforehand
  • On arrival at the terminal please visit the in-terminal rental car desk to complete your car rental contract.
