Technology

Sydney Airport is committed to harnessing the latest technology to ensure passengers enjoy a seamless journey to, from and through the airport.

Staying connected

Travellers are enjoying improved amenities and connectivity with the introduction of smart device charging stations throughout dwell areas, allowing them to work remotely or connect with friends and family before take-off via Sydney Airport’s free Wi-Fi network.

Passengers can download free travel guides at the airport for a range of locations via our partner TripAdvisor, providing an easy way to read up on holiday destinations before departure.

Finding your way

New, more intuitive navigation signage and updated flight information display screens enable passengers to find their way to departure gates and airport services more easily.

Google and Apple Maps of the terminal precinct also allow passengers to locate retail outlets, amenities and gates from the palm of their hand.

Chinese travellers

We’ve established a dedicated Chinese website and WeChat account to help Chinese travellers to plan their trip to the airport before they leave home, with regular updates on Sydney Airport.

Sydney Airport was the first organisation outside of greater China to use the popular Baidu indoor maps app.

This is complemented by in-terminal touchpoints including wayfinding in Simplified Chinese and Mandarin-speaking airport ambassadors.

Ground access

Technology is also helping us to deal more effectively with traffic issues and better plan for peaks in demand.
