Managing ground transport in and around Sydney Airport is important for airline passengers, for the 33,500 people who work at the airport and for the local community.

Sydney Airport is committed to improving traffic flow in and around the airport and to encouraging greater use of public and active transport.

Changes to the road network in the International (T1) and Domestic (T2/T3) terminal precincts have already been completed and have significantly improved traffic flow within those precincts.

T2/T3 Ground Access Solutions & Hotel major development plan

The proposed changes to the road network in and around the Domestic (T2/T3) terminal precinct were included in Sydney Airport’s T2/T3 Ground Access Solutions & Hotel major development plan (the MDP).

The MDP was approved by the Australian Government in 2015 and can be downloaded here.

Why the original MDP needs to be varied

Significant progress has been made to implement a number of projects in the original MDP.

A variation to the MDP is now proposed and will only affect the hotel development. This is necessary because the recently approved Sydney Gateway road project will adversely impact the amenity of the new hotel.
